Holy Week at Monastery of Transfiguration
During Holy week our family sometimes go to the province of
Bukidnon for Visita Iglesia and our last church is in Monastery of
Transfiguration located at San Jose Hill, Malaybalay City. We traditionally do
this every holy week or sometimes we also go to El Salvador Divine Mercy
shrine. What I love in this place during
holy week is not too crowded like Devine Mercy shrine, so If you have infants,
kids and have more elderly member of the family I really recommend this place.
See photo inside the church during our visit there are only few people praying
inside.
This Monestery is run by benedictine monks. So if you come
here you better not wear sexy dresses, sleeveless or shorts but don’t worry you
still can go inside but you have to wear their long skirt to
cover them up. This is the perfect place to pray, I love the peacefulness, it is also a
relaxing place and because it’s in Bukidnon province I also love the cool
breeze where you can really feel the calmness of nature, you can also hear
birds chirping if you’re outside the church.
When we arrive I really do is
appreciate the architecture of the pyramid like design from Egypt, it is really
nice! The entrance is filled with flowers and on the side the grass is very
well maintained this place is very clean and I really love the surroundings. We
traveled here by car but I ask some of the locals here on how to get here if
they commute from the main highway, you can ride with a habal habal 70/head
because you have to travel far from the Highway some of the road going to the
church are not yet concreted but anyway once you get here you really wont
regret it and it’s a very solemn place.
